Salt Lake City's pickleball scene got a genuine landmark moment in 2025 with a brand-new public park built specifically around the sport, alongside a growing set of indoor clubs for the colder months. Here are five real, confirmed places to play.
Dedicated Clubs
The Picklr, in the Brickyard neighborhood, runs eight climate-controlled indoor courts on a membership model, with court reservations available to non-members too.
Club Pickleball USA operates premium indoor courts at multiple Salt Lake County locations, including a 12-court facility in Sandy, as part of a larger multi-location Utah club.
The Sports Mall, just south of downtown, runs 12 seasonal indoor courts under a climate-controlled dome (roughly November through April) plus two outdoor stadium courts for the warmer months — a genuinely year-round setup under one membership.
Glendale Regional Park is the kind of thing most cities' pickleball scenes don't get: a purpose-built public park where the sport was part of the plan from day one, not an afterthought striped onto old tennis courts.
Free Public Courts
Glendale Regional Park opened 12 free outdoor courts in August 2025 as the first completed phase of Salt Lake City's first new regional park in more than 60 years, with more courts planned as the rest of the park comes online. Fairmont Park, in the Sugar House neighborhood, is an established free option with six outdoor courts shaded by decades-old trees. Both are run by Salt Lake City's Public Lands Department, whose park listings keep the fullest, most current map of free courts citywide.
What to Know Before You Go
Salt Lake City's altitude and dry climate mean sunscreen and hydration matter more here than in most cities, even on mild-looking days.
