Miami's pickleball scene spans everything from a free, first-come courtside spot near the beach to a purpose-built club with a full clinic schedule. Here are five real, confirmed places to play — and where that split actually lands.

Indoor & Dedicated Clubs

DETA Pickleball Club, run by David Ensignia Tennis Academy at the Miccosukee Golf & Country Club in Kendall, has grown into the largest pickleball program in Miami-Dade County: more than a dozen dedicated outdoor courts, weekly clinics and match play, with free registration and no membership fee.

The Yards at Amelia, in Hialeah, was the city's first dedicated indoor pickleball facility — eight climate-controlled courts with a full schedule of reservations and open play, plus food trucks parked outside.

Dinko Pickleball Complex, in Miami's Upper Eastside, is a newer indoor complex built specifically for pickleball, with a café and a VIP lounge alongside its courts. Court time is reservable, and memberships are available for regular players.

Miami's free courts get busy fast once the sun drops and the heat breaks — if you want a guaranteed court at peak hours, that's what the paid clubs are actually for.

Free Public Courts

Haulover Park, on the Miami Beach side of the county, has eight free outdoor courts with lights for evening play — first-come, first-served, no reservation. Miami Beach Golf Club, along Alton Road, has six free outdoor courts with water and restroom access on site. Miami-Dade Parks and the City of Miami Beach both maintain additional free public courts across the county's park system, including several courts shared with tennis at neighborhood parks; the county and city parks department listings keep the fullest, most current map.

What to Know Before You Go

Humidity and afternoon heat make early morning or evening sessions the norm for outdoor play here more than in most cities. Free public courts don't rent paddles, so bring your own; indoor clubs generally do.
